Comm Alumna, Allie Incaudo, named 2018 Cynopsis Top Women in Digital, Rising Star
The Department of Communication would like to congratulate alumna, Allie Incaudo, on her recent Cynopsis award.  Allie has been named the 2018 Cynopsis Top Women in Digital Rising Star.  The Rising Star category is explained as those with the smarts, maturity, and poise that give them the potential to be one of the next generation’s leaders. Comm Development Day a Success!
On March 16, 2018, the Department of Communication hosted its first annual Comm Development Day.  It was an idea the graduate students came up with in order to make a meaningful contribution to the undergraduate students they serve.  Once this idea was presented, the faculty and staff were immediately on board.  Ph.D. student and GTA, Corey Pavlich said, "For me, The idea for comm development day stemmed from interactions that I have with internships students. Professor Harwood Gives Communication and Music Presentation for UA Prison Education Project
The University of Arizona Prison Education Project is an ongoing selection of reading and writing course, as well as a lecture series for inmates at the Arizona Department of Corrections Whetstone Unit.  The program began with a generous donation from made to the Department of English by Barbara Martinsons, who teaches sociology and American history in prisons in New York each summer and pioneered prison education in New York City.  Professor, Jake Harwood, presented a lecture on "Communication... Associate Professor Jennifer Stevens Aubrey is awarded the National Communication Association Mass Communication Division Teaching and Service Award
Each year, the National Communication Association recognizes two instructors for their excellence in teaching in Mass Communication.  In order to be considered, the nominee must have taught for over ten years (post-graduate), and must have been recognized for teaching excellence by his/her department, unit, college/university, or other group or association. New Public Relations Faculty in Communication

Communication Major, Sam Singh, Volunteers for Stuff the Cat Tran
Wednesday marked the finale of the UA4FOOD campaign with the Stuff the Cat Tran event.  Food donations from Communication Undergraduates, Graduates, Faculty, and Staff were taken over to the Cherry & University location to be combined with donations from all over campus.  Among the student volunteers at the Stuff the Cat Tran event was Communication major, Sam Singh.  He had this to say about volunteering: "I volunteered because I got an email from the Comm Department.
