Research Areas
Xuan Li is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication at the University of Arizona. She studies the role of social norms and stigma in shaping women’s physical and mental health, working at the intersection of health communication, interpersonal communication, and intercultural communication. Her research focuses on how cultural and gender norms operate in relational and healthcare contexts. Her first-authored work has been accepted and presented at the Global Digital Intimacies Conference (2024), 75th International Communication Association Conference (2025), and National Communication Association 112th Annual Convention (2026). Before joining U of Arizona, she served as the Head of Academic Research Office at the Asian Women Development Plan International (AWDPI), an NGO, where she studied women’s experiences in intercultural contexts.
