Sarah Van Hare

Sarah Van Hare is a critical post-positivist Ph.D. student in Communication Studies at the University of Arizona, specializing in intergroup communication with a focus on political affiliation as a social identity dimension. Her current research examines how power and rhetorical populism influence intergroup contact between American citizens. She is also interested in intragroup communication, particularly when group members revoke membership from others based on an inadequate performance of group values. She is a self-professed statistics nerd and who adores quantitative research. During her time at UofA, she hopes to help new communication scholars grow their confidence in all kinds of statistical analysis. 
When she is not teaching or taking classes, Sarah enjoys sewing her own clothes, playing ultimate frisbee, and line dancing. 
Sarah Van Hare holds a Master of Science degree in communication studies from Texas Christian University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and in communication studies from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
