Michelle Suarez is a third year Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication at the University of Arizona. Her research interests include health, interpersonal, and sport communication.
Originally from Southern California, Michelle attended University of La Verne for her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication and then earned her master’s degree in Communication Studies from Cal State Fullerton.
Michelle’s past research examined how communication affects athletes’ motivation to recover from a sport related injury. Her interest in sport communication was inspired by her experience as a former collegiate athlete on the cross country and track team.
In her free time, she enjoys yoga, long distance running, and trying new coffee shops.
