Position Overview:
The Fundraising, Engagement & Administrative Intern works closely with the Chalk Consulting team to support the functions of the firm and our work with clients locally and nationally.
The responsibilities vary from day to day, depending on the needs of our consulting team and clients. In addition to learning about the role of a nonprofit consultant and workings of our firm, you will have the opportunity to contribute to and learn about multiple facets of nonprofit, academic, and athletic fundraising, engagement, and management, including:
Fundraising and Engagement
· Market and donor research
· Donation tracking and management
· Fundraising and capital campaigns
· Creating reports and other collateral materials
· Research through LinkedIn
Stewardship and Communication
· Assist with donor stewardship activities
· Assist with special events when needed by clients
· Online newsletters and blogs
· Utilizing survey monkey and MailChimp
· Event planning and support
Basic Office Responsibilities
· Return calls and schedule meetings
· Database management and entry with excel and CRM platform
· Make Copies, filing and run errands
· Assist with large mail merges & mailings
· Assist with President & CEO’s community activities
· Assist with branding efforts
· Assist with utilizing AI and best strategies around that
· Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge & Skills:
· Pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree
· Comfort and familiarity with event planning and/or project management
· Excellent communication skills
· Dependable, reliable, honest, and trustworthy
· Self-motivated, flexible team player with a positive attitude, demonstrated ability to multi-task, and the ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
· Comfort with interacting with individuals and companies face-to-face, on the phone or via mail/email
· Research, writing, editing and proofreading skills
· Demonstrated commitment to nonprofit work
· Knowledge of Office 365, email, and basic business applications
· Experience with excel is a plus
· Experience using Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher, or similar applications preferred
· Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States
· Ability to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week
· Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license
· Experience in the nonprofit sector preferred but not required
