The WRRC is seeking a student intern to assist in updating information on its resources webpages about and from Arizona’s water agencies and associations. The student intern will be exposed to key state and regional water agencies, organizations, and associations and generate content that assists the public in understanding the roles and information shared by these organizations. This internship is made possible by a generous donation from David Wegner, a long-time supporter of the WRRC and the use of science in decision-making. Dave Wegner has a wide career spectrum ranging from research in the Colorado River Basin, coordinating the collection and use of science in the Grand Canyon for addressing the impacts of Glen Canyon Dam, working for the Fish & Wildlife Service and Bureau of Reclamation, and being senior staff for water policy and climate related issues for the US House of Representatives. Currently he works with Woolpert Engineering on water initiatives and supports the work of the National Academy of Sciences and multiple global water resilience and adaptation research organizations. This internship anticipates that the intern will work approximately 160 hours flexibly scheduled over the summer and offers a stipend of $3,000 to be deposited to the intern’s bursar’s account.
