Kausumi is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Associate at the Department of Communication. She is originally from India. Before starting her Ph.D., she worked for a few years in the nonprofit sector on a variety of projects. Her research interests include media effects on youth identity processes, intercultural communication, and storytelling for social change. Outside of academia, she enjoys working with animals, lazing in bed, watching anime, and reading murder mysteries. She usually goes by Kat.
