Anna Marcucci

Anna Marcucci is from Springfield, Virginia and is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication with a minor in Human Development and Family Science. Anna’s research focuses on interpersonal and intergroup communication, psychological disorders, self-concept, and identity. She is particularly interested in exploring the relationships among interpersonal and intergroup communication, identity, relational processes, and psychological well-being. The influence of stigma, stereotypes, and societal norms in these communicative experiences are of particular interest to Anna’s scholarship, as her work often focuses on neurodivergent, stigmatized, and otherwise marginalized populations. 

Anna is also passionate about teaching and mentorship in higher education. She is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals and understand the influential role of communication in their everyday lives. Her teaching experience includes courses such as Introduction to Communication Research Methods, Family Communication, and Small Group Communication.
