Before starting the Ph.D. program, Cecilia was a full-time professor and researcher at the School of Communication at the Universidad Panamericana (UP) in Mexico City. She pursued a bachelor's studies in Communication at the UP and a master's degree in Marriage and Family at the Universidad de Navarra, in Pamplona, Spain. For nine years, she taught classes on Social Media Effects, Communication Theory, Cyber journalism, and Spanish Written Communication. Her area of interest lies at the intersection of her bachelor's studies and her master's degree. Cecilia is mainly interested in media effects, parental mediation, media literacy, media stereotypes related to love and sex, and children and youth development.
