Matthew Lapierre Joins Communication Faculty

The Department of Communication welcomes Dr. Matthew Lapierre!  Matt Lapierre received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania where his dissertation explored links between children's cognitive/affective development and their responses to persuasive communication.  Prior to graduate school, Matt studied math and philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts,  he then worked as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in rural Montana, a counselor with mentally-ill children, and at the Oregon Social Learning Center aiding in research on divorced families.Matt's current research interest primarily focuses on persuasion and child health.
