Dr. Maggie Pitts to Join Faculty

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Maggie Pitts will be joining us in the Fall as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Pitts conducts naturalistic investigations into patterns and processes of lifespan transitions with a specific focus on the “everyday” communication people use to negotiate those transitions. Contributing to her work in this area, she has authored articles and book chapters on issues such as ageism and ageist language (Journal of Social Issues), rapport development among researchers and participants (Qualitative Research), cancer, culture and ageing (Cancer Communication and Aging), theories on culture and identity (Intergroup Communication: Multiple Perspectives), and...
