School Health Resource Website Developer Intern

The University of Arizona’s Asthma & Airway Disease Research Center (A2DRC) is inviting students with experience in website development to apply for the School Health Resource Website Developer Internship which will serve families in Pima County.

The A2DRC is an interdisciplinary Center of Excellence at the University of Arizona College of Health Sciences dedicated to research, clinical care, medical education, and community service in both adult and pediatric pulmonary medicine.

Project Background:

Pima County has 241 non-charter public schools comprising 17 school districts and 100 charter and private schools. An estimated 20% of children live in poverty in Pima County (Pima County Prosperity Initiative, 2023).

Schools often serve as a hub connecting families to health, housing, nutrition, economic assistance, childcare, and other resources. The goal of this project is to work with a team of interns to develop the School Health Resource Website for families. The website will provide a central hub for families to connect with resources in Pima County and will be shared with schools and families in Pima County.

Internship Project Title: School Health Resource Website Developer Internship

When: Spring 2024

Internship Description

The intern will work with a team of student interns and the site preceptor to lead the creation of the School Health Resource Website.

Tasks include 1. design the format and layout of the website (website hosted at the University of Arizona) 2. develop website content 3. draft written sections of the website 4. additional tasks as determined.

The School Health Resource Website Developer Intern must demonstrate familiarity with HTML, excellent professionalism and time management skills, strong cultural competency, writing, and verbal skills and is a team player. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
