Until further notice, the University of Arizona, in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, encourages all employees to work remotely. Our main office is open for limited hours to the public, Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm, until September 14th. About Monica Gallegos, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor at Nothern Kentucky University

Dr. Monica Gallegos received her B.A. in Communication from the University of Arizona, and her M.A. in Communication and Journalism from the University of New Mexico. She recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a Ph.D. in Communication, specializing in Health Communication. Her research is focused on how social relationships and loneliness affect health, especially among disadvantaged individuals including Latinos and older adults. Dr. Gallegos has teaching experience in health communication, public speaking, lifespan communication, media ethics, and introduction to communication courses. In addition, she has business experience in advertising, marketing, public relations and development, specifically related to the health care industry.
