Larissa Terán (M.A., University of Nevada, Las Vegas) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication. Larissa’s research focus is mainly within social and psychological media effects. Topically, Larissa investigates the role of the media in young people’s sexual socialization, specifically focusing on sexual aggression and sexualization. Larissa is also a graduate teaching associate and has taught a variety of courses including Public Speaking, Communication Technology, Survey of Mass Communication, Children, Adolescents, & the Media, and Communication Theory.
