About Julie Armstrong

Julie Armstrong is an Assistant Professor of Practice.  She received her MA in Communication from St. Mary’s University and her BA in English from Trinity University, both located in San Antonio, Texas.  Prior to joining the University of Arizona’s Department of Communication, Armstrong was on the faculty of St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and previously at Colorado State University-Pueblo (Colorado).  She spent the FA17 semester teaching in Angers, France for the St. Edward’s University Study Abroad Program.  Armstrong is an accredited public relations professional (APR) and spent over twenty years in the professional practice of public relations, marketing communication and advertising.  She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In her previous position, Armstrong served as faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).  She teaches courses in support of the Public Relations curriculum in the Department of Communication.   Armstrong will assist with the development of a minor in Public Relations and will start and supervise a chapter of PRSSA.
