About Hyeonchang Gim
Hyeonchang “Kay” Gim is an M.A. student whose research interests are in intergroup communication with music and media effects. He received a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of South Dakota, where he researched how Netflix portrays characters in relation to biological sex, age, and ethnicity. He is currently working on Professor Jake Harwood’s research team, investigating why individuals consume foreign music and whether the consumption of foreign music has an impact on improving intergroup attitudes.
