Until further notice, the University of Arizona, in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, encourages all employees to work remotely. Our main office is open for limited hours to the public, Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm, until September 14th. About Hyeonchang Gim

Hyeonchang “Kay” Gim is an M.A. student whose research interests are in intergroup communication with music and media effects.  He received a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of South Dakota, where he researched how Netflix portrays characters in relation to biological sex, age, and ethnicity.  He is currently working on Professor Jake Harwood’s research team, investigating why individuals consume foreign music and whether the consumption of foreign music has an impact on improving intergroup attitudes.
