Did you know that UofA undergraduates can earn an MA in Communication with just one additional year of coursework? It’s true! The Accelerated MA Program (AMP) in Communication allows students who qualify to complete 12 credits of graduate level coursework during the fourth year of their undergraduate program -- and count those credits toward *both* their BA and MA. After just one additional year of graduate courses, students in the AMP graduate from the UofA with both a BA and MA. In other words, you can get both degrees in only 5 years.
This program is open ONLY to UofA students who are entering their SENIOR year in the Fall. You must have a 3.3 GPA to be admitted (grad college rule, no exceptions). To apply you will need an Application Authorization Code: You can obtain this from Peggy Flyntz (firstname.lastname@example.org). You should have a 3.3 GPA in order to apply to the program, and in order to receive the full benefits you should enroll in the program when you still have one more full year of undergraduate courses to complete. Admission to the AMP is competitive: meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. GRE scores are not required for the application.
