The graduate students of the Department of Communication hosted the second annual memorial blood drive in honor of Amanda Kundrat this past Friday, September 7th, and it was a success! This blood drive joins the long-running drive hosted by Pennsylvania State University’s Communication Arts and Sciences Department.
Penn State held the first blood drive in honor of Amanda Kundrat in 2003. Amanda was a Ph.D. student at Penn State studying health communication and invisible illnesses when she died in January 2003 from complications during surgery. By continuing the annual memorial blood drive, we wish to bring relevance to the lives and communities that we serve when we donate blood.
Thank you to everyone who participated, and a special thanks to our graduate students who organized this event! For more information on eligibility and the donation process, please visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/faq.html.
